TPG Consulting was founded in 2002 by former Big 4 partners Charles Popper, PhD and Baruch (Bernie) Plagman, and Alex Berson, PhD.
After serving as a consulting partner at Deloitte, nearly a decade as the Global CIO at Merck & Co, Inc., and Vice Chair at the VC Fund of IDB Bank, Charles teamed up with co-founder Baruch, who retired from PwC as part of the IBM consulting transaction. Both founders were passionate about continuing to deliver exceptional value to clients together with people they trust. Early insight as to where the work culture was leading, TPG Consulting was formed and still exists today as a gig economy firm.
Initially, the TPG talent pool consisted of colleagues with whom the partners had at least 10 years of hands-on project experience, thus the concept of “Trusted Talent on Demand” was born. To facilitate expansion, this level of professional trust was expanded from the founding partners to include trusted working relationships for all members of the TPG Consulting network.
Today, this concept of trust remains a hallmark of TPG Consulting with 1000s of deployable resources across industries, sector, and capability. All professionals are still added to our network based on trusted relationships of proven talent.
